Call of Duty WW2 DLC Trailer Shows New Zombies and More

Call of Duty WW2 DLC Trailer Shows New Zombies and More

After Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare underwhelmed in 2016, Call of Duty: WW2 has proven to be the shot in the arm that the franchise needed thanks in large part to its decision to return to its roots. In less than two months time, the game has managed to become the best selling game of 2017 according to the NPD Group, outselling some fierce competition in Destiny 2, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, and more. To keep that momentum going, developer Sledgehammer Games has released the first preview trailer for the game’s first DLC pack known as The Resistance.

In the first preview trailer, Sledgehammer co-founder Michael Condrey provides a bit of inspiration behind the first Call of Duty: WW2 DLC pack, saying it aims to make players really feel as though they’re part of an underground resistance. As expected, the content features three multiplayer maps, a new map for War, and the next chapter in the Nazi zombies campaign story called The Darkest Shore. After receiving intel on the location of Dr. Straub, the Zombie protagonists head to a foggy island north of Germany. As expected, the fog plays a major part of the gameplay, reducing player vision. New zombies are also added, including one that utilizes tactics and strategy to mess with the player.

The first multiplayer map is known as Valkyrie, and it is set in a German Nazi war bunker where an assassination attempt was made on Hitler. According to the team, it’s a map that supports multiple playstyles with plenty of sniper lanes, to a number of good corners for shotgun users as well. The second is an urban map called Anthropoid set in the city of Prague. Unlike Valkyrie, this one has a lot of height variety within it as well as plenty of interiors for players to duck into. The final multiplayer map is a remastered version of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 map called Resistance. Now known as Occupation, the map is set in occupied Paris and features plenty of urban warfare and long sightlines for mountain division players.

Operation Intercept is the new War map featured in this DLC Pack and puts players in the shoes of the French Forces of the Interior, tasking players with not only rescuing captured fighters, but capturing radio equipment and then pushing the Nazis out of Paris.

The Resistance kicks off for PlayStation 4 players first on January 30, while Xbox and PC players will likely have to wait until late February. For those who aren’t looking to fork over real money for more Call of Duty: WW2 content, the Winter Siege event is in full swing at the Headquarters offering a full range of winter-themed weapons, double XP, and free loot boxes. Not only that, the fan favorite multiplayer mode Gun Game is also now available as well.

Call of Duty: WW2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
